XL Axiata, with a long history of building high-performance networks in Indonesia, is at the forefront of the country’s digital transformation. Indonesia’s digital roadmap calls for expanding 4G wireless service into tens of thousands of new areas while also embarking on its 5G service rollout.
To meet the growing demand for mobile and Internet services, XL Axiata is upgrading its Juniper network to 400G and Segment Routing IPv6 (SRv6). The company aims to provides high-speed internet to support and improve the performance of its enterprise offerings. This includes providing secure and reliable connectivity services to cloud and data center solutions, allowing enterprise customers to easily store data and increase team productivity in a secure and integrated manner. Enterprises will also benefit from dedicated connections to highly secure branches and data centers, which will better safeguard customer data with high bandwidth. Furthermore, XL Axiata will be able to provide comprehensive service management with a SLA of 99.5%.
Scalable, operationally intelligent network
A veteran Juniper customer, XL Axiata decided to expand its use of Juniper solutions as it embarked on its FTTH and 5G deployment journey.
“Juniper’s 400G and SRv6 routing solutions deliver the greater levels of reliability, scalability and simplified network operations we needed to move quickly with new, competitive Internet and 5G deployments,” says Fadly Hamka, group head - network planning and design at the XL Axiata.
XL Axiata is migrating from MPLS to SRv6, with Juniper’s portfolio of 400G MX Series Universal Routing Platforms. The new network will deliver high performance and unprecedented scale, allowing XL Axiata to deliver excellent subscriber experiences as demand for mobile and fiber Internet rises.
As the first customer to deploy Juniper’s SRv6 solution, XL Axiata worked closely with Juniper Professional Services on the design and implementation to help ensure a successful migration and interoperability with its existing MPLS network.
